Joan Ruth Heath

Mrs. Joan R. Heath, age 83, of Mildred, PA, passed away on Wednesday evening, May 16, 2018, at her home with her loving family at her side.   

          Joan was born on September 25, 1934, in Moxie at her grandparents’ home. She was a daughter of the late Carl & Thelma Carpenter Philippi. She graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School a member of the class of 1952. She married George Franklin Heath on June 25, 1955, and they enjoyed almost 55 years of marriage before his passing on May 13, 2010.

          She worked at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Mfg. Co., in Mildred, PA, for several years before becoming a stay at home mom and house wife. She also helped run the family business, Heath Refuse and Recycling Service alongside her husband and children for 40 plus years.

          She enjoyed flowers and birds, especially humming birds. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by a sister Hazel Strope; sister-in-law; Jeanie Heath, and a brother-in-law, John Heath.

          Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with her pastor, the Rev. Phyllis A. Pelletier, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dushore, PA.

          Family and friends may call on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
