Thomas J Glasgow DDS, LTC (Ret)

May 24, 1946 — December 12, 2017

        

 

          Thomas J. Glasgow, DDS, Lieutenant Colonel, US ARMY (Ret), age 71, of Laporte, PA, Sullivan Co., PA passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte after an extended illness.

         

           Tom was born in Harrisburg, PA on May 24, 1946 son of the late William Harry & Virginia Ann Welliver Glasgow.   He graduated from Dover Area High School, Dover, PA and from the University of Pittsburgh with his B.S. and D.D.S.  He married the former Suzanne D. Swartz of Harrisburg, PA on June 21, 1971.  After dental school, he enlisted in the US Army and served as a dentist for the Army for over 20 years at bases all over the world until his retirement as the dental clinic commander.  After retiring from the Army he worked for several dental offices until illness necessitated his retirement from dental practice.

         

 

          Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

And numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his spouse, Suzanne D. Swartz Glasgow on April 12, 1997.

       

   

         A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Phyllis A. Pelletier, pastor of Zion Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, officiating.   Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery with graveside military services accorded by the US Army Honor’s detail.
