Santa Isabel Ocasio Matos

April 15, 1944 — January 10, 2021

          Santa Isabel Ocasio Matos, age 76, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at the Darway Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Estella, PA, after a lingering illness.

 

          Santa was born April 15, 1944 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Victor Ocasio and Luisa Maria Matos Ocasio. 

 

          She moved to Lancaster in 1979 and resided there until her health required nursing care.  She moved to Sullivan County in 2015.

 

          She was a loving mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed sharing funny stories with family, and shopping for jewelry which she loved to wear.  She enjoyed her time at Darway, where she was treated with incredible kindness, love and empathy, making her feel as part of their family.

 

          She was a member of St. Basil’s Church in Dushore, PA.

          Besides her parents she was predeceased by a daughter; Marilyn Quero Ocasio; sisters: Hilda Rosa Núñez-Matos on June 11, 2016; and Irma Victoria Ocasio Matos; and brothers: Eddie Matos and Victor M Ocasio Matos.

 

          Due to the covid 19 restrictions a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

 

          Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614.
