Obituary

Roy Alfred Herman, Jr., age 44, formerly from Lawton, PA, has been called home by the Master Carpenter on Friday, June 26, 2026, in Reston, VA.

Son of Teresa Herman and the late Roy Herman, Sr., he was known for having a profound yet quiet personality with an immeasurable dry wit. He loved his children passionately with every measure of his spirit and soul. Those who knew Roy will remember his warm heart, generosity, and the way he gladdened the lives of whoever he met.

He was a graduate of Elk Lake High School and an incredible varsity athlete. He was a beloved member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 277, working all over the North, Mid, and South Atlantic states to provide for his family. He was a phenomenal craftsman and a diligent, industrious hard worker, with a passion for gunsmithing, target shooting, shade-tree mechanics, and gardening, putting his essence into everything he touched.

He was predeceased by his father in 2007 and sister, Nicole Herman, in 2025, and survived by the following:

Mother Teresa Herman and sister, Laura Benson of Reston, VA.

Wife, Maggi Waldron Herman of Lawton, PA.

Daughter, Erin Herman, with a bundle of love on the way, of Lawton, PA.

Son, Roy Herman III of Lawton, PA.

Stepdaughter, Lisa Waldron, and her children, Elanur and Lenora, of Binghamton, NY.

Nephews, Phillip and Quentin Adams of Hallstead, PA.

Along with many aunts, uncles, extended family, and close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 11:00 am at Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA

Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and honor Roy’s life with Elder John Kamarauskas.

Interment will follow in the Beaver Meadows Cemetery, Tuscarora Township, near Laceyville, PA.
