Rose Lee Garey

Mrs. Rose Lee Garey, age 82, of Lesterville (Lopez), PA, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.

          Rose was born on August 21, 1936, in Oklahoma City, OK, a daughter of the late Brigido R. & Goldie M. Zachary Jimenez. She was raised and attended school in Harrah, OK.

          She married Ronald J. Garey on March 6, 1961, in Shawnee, OK, and they moved to Lopez, PA, in 1977 after retiring from 20 years of service with the US Air Force.

          She was very proud of her Mexican Heritage and found great joy in preparing Mexican dishes for her family. She enjoyed reading and NASCAR, but her greatest joy was her family, especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

          She is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

          Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son Ronald; and by a brother, Bob Jimenez; and her grandchildren: Heather Mallatt, Kim Mallatt, Arthur Rohe II, and Nacole Johnson.

          Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
