Richard Edward Bush

Richard E. “Dick” Bush, age 77, of Elkland Township, lost his fight against Covid-19 on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

 

            Dick was born June 13, 1943 to the late Grover E. and Beatrice (Rynearson) Bush in Somerville, Somerset County, N.J. He grew up in Peapack, Somerset County, until finishing high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in June 1961 serving four years as an aircraft crew chief in Newfoundland and Greenland, Canada, achieving the rank of E-4.

 

            After leaving the Air Force Dick embarked on a career in computer operations, managing the computer centers of Baker & Taylor Books, Momence, Illinois, Reno, Nevada, and Bridgewater, N.J. His last employment was with AIG of Livingston, N.J. He received a liberal arts degree from the College of the Pacific, Stockton, Cal.

 

            Dick was a life member of the NRA and the American Legion Post #12, Somerville, Somerset County, N.J. He was an extra-class Amateur Radio operator.

 

            Survivors include his wife, Pamelyn P. Bush, of Elkland Township; sons Grady L. Bush and wife Tina M. of San Antonio, Texas, and Richard A. Bush, of Chugiak, Alaska; daughter Bonnie Christensen, Bradley, Illinois; two step-children; eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

 

            Dick was an avid reader; any contributions in his memory may be made to the Friends of the Sullivan County Library, P.O. Box 485, Dushore, Pa., 18614.

 

            Interment next to his parents, was on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Rural Hill Cemetery, Hunterdon County, NJ.

 

            Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614.
