Patricia Welles Hoffman

Patricia Hoffman, 89, of Wyalusing, passed away peacefully on Friday night, September 28, 2018, at home.

Pat was born August 25, 1929, a daughter of the late Clayton Welles Sr. and Julia Elizabeth Campbell Welles. She graduated from Wyalusing High School.  Then attended Mansfield Teachers School, where she was a member of the 1947 Championship basketball team. She graduated from Syracuse University, with a degree in music.  

On Feb 2, 1952, she married Donald Lee Hoffman. He predeceased her on January 15, 2009.

She liked spending time with her family and friends. Pat enjoyed doing crosswords, and various other puzzles. She loved to read.

Pat was a lifetime member of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, a trustee, and financial secretary. She was also a member of the choir, and led the children’s choir for many years. Blessed with a beautiful voice, Pat was well known for singing duets at the annual Candlelight Service at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church with her brother Lincoln Welles. She was charter member of Wyalusing Musical Society as well as the Choralier’s singing group. Pat was a former director of the Wyalusing Public Library. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross for over 25 years, she also volunteered at the Wyalusing elementary school as a tutor. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA 18853, with the Rev. Dr. Barry Ballard presiding. Interment to follow at Wyalusing Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Homer funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
