Mildred Black

          Mrs. Mildred Borick Black, age 93, of Summit, NJ, formerly of Lopez, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Gilbert, AZ.

          Millie was born on June 4, 1928, in Lopez, PA, a daughter of the late Michael & Anna Gulich Borick. She graduated from Dushore High School a member of the class of 1944. She married Robert William Black on June 5, 1948, and they enjoyed almost 62 years of marriage before his passing on March 2, 2010. 

She worked at Weldon Mfg. in Lopez, PA, and Oak Knoll Catholic School in Summit, NJ. She was a member of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church in Lopez, PA.

She enjoyed spending time with her beloved family, reading, taking long walks, watching a good Hallmark movie, and spending time at her homestead in Lopez and her new home in Arizona.

Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by five sisters: Mary Bushofsky, Anna Mushallo, Helen Schneider, Catherine Snider, and Eva Schneider, and six brothers: John Borick, Nicholas Borick, Michael Borick, Frank Borick, Daniel Borick, and Steve Borick.

          She was many things to many people but she was everything to us.

          Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Dennis Hendershot, presiding in the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery in Lopez where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Bob.

          Family and friends may call on Saturday morning, June 11, 2022, from 9:00 AM until the start of the service at 10:30 AM at the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
