Obituary

Mary Margaret “Mimi” Fritsch, age 77, of Dushore, PA, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 23, 2025, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA, surrounded with love from her family.

Mimi as she was commonly known to her family and friends, was born in Towanda, PA, on July 30, 1948, a daughter of the late James Francis “Spade” and Beatrice Wanagitis Lang. She graduated from Sullivan County High School as a member of the class of 1966.

She married Thomas John Fritsch on March 7, 1970. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage before Tom’s passing on March 8, 2016.

In her early years, Mimi worked for the Dolly Madison Plant known as the creamery in Dushore and later for the Sullivan Terrace as a secretary and assistant manager.

She was a member of St. Basil’s Church in Dushore and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society.

She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. She especially lover her cats, Tully & Gabby.

Great grandchildren: Jack Fritsch, Carter Fritsch, Braxton Fritsch, and Russell Fritsch.

She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers-in-law: Carl Fritsch, David Fritsch, and Vincent Fritsch.

A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614 and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Bert Kozen, her pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in St. Basil’s Cemetery.

Friends and family may call on Monday morning, December 29, 2025, from 9:30 AM until the start of the Transferal Service at 10:30 AM in the Homer Funeral Home, Dushore, PA.

Members of St. Basil’s Altar & Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 9:25 AM on Monday morning at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
