Margaret S Maximiek

        Mrs. Margaret A. Maximiek, age 94, of 399 E 14th Street, Elmira Heights, NY, formerly of Lopez, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Bethany Village, Horseheads, NY.          Margaret was born October 1, 1922 in Lonaconing, MD, a daughter of the late Peter Algie & Agnes Isabelle Keplinger Smith.  She graduated from High School in Lonaconing, MD. She married Frank Maximiek of Lopez, PA on October 1, 1942.  Frank served in US Army during WW II and after the war they moved to Elmira, NY, where he worked for American Bridge Co. for 32 years.  She worked as a Department Store Manager, for several years, for SE Nichols in Elmira Heights, NY.  After retiring they moved to Lopez.  Frank predeceased her on September 17, 1991.          She was a member of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church in Lopez, PA.  Surviving:  Sons: Frank L. (Michael) Cicora             Jacksonville, FL  Sisters: Thelma Smith                                         Elmira Heights, NY Norma Knauer                                                Rockville, IN Sister-in-law: Mrs. Michiko Maximiek                                Bloomsburg, PA Seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Robert Maximiek, of Lopez, PA on April 1, 1987.           A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, July 27th, 2017, with the Rev. Dennis Hendershot, her pastor, officiating, at St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, Lopez, PA.          Funeral arrangements are under the direction to the P.
