Lois Marie Arey

Lois Marie Arey, age 95, of The Gardens at Tunkhannock, PA, and formerly of Dushore, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.             Lois was born November 5, 1922, a daughter of the late John & Elsie Kneller Arey.  She graduated from Dushore High School a member of the class of 1940.             Lois was employed by the Endicott Johnson Shoe Manufacturing Company and by the Sull-Craft Manufacturing Company, formerly Sullivan Silk Company. She later worked as a clerk for the Ben Franklin Store in Dushore for 19 years.             Lois was a former member of the Wilmot Grange and also a member of the Zion Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Dushore, PA.   Surviving:  Four nieces: Lois Papson, Emily Hoffman, Joan Rozen, & Ilene Kille. Three nephews: Marshall Downes, James Arey, & David Hoffman. Also several great nieces and great nephews.   She was predeceased by her three brothers: Charles Elwood Arey, James Arey, & Paul Arey and by a sister, Laura Downes and also by three nieces: Linda Charnitski, Arvilla Dotson, and Elinor Filardo.             Friends may call on Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 9:30 A.M. until the start of the service at 10:00 A.M. at the Zion Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Dushore, PA. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 A.M with the Rev. Phyllis A. Pellitier, her pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in the Old Zion Cemetery, Dushore, PA.             In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dushore Fire and Ambulance Assoc., PO Box 1, Dushore, PA 18614, in Lois M.
