Lester Walter Price, age 88, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Robert Packer Hospital, in Sayre, PA.
Lester was born in Brooklyn, King’s County, New York City, son of the late Lester W. & Doris Hennessey Price. He graduated from the Immaculate Heart of Mary High School. He served in the US Army.
He married the former Sarah Gibbons, of Brooklyn, NY, on December 10, 1957. She predeceased him on January 8, 2020, after 62 years of marriage.
Lester retired from New York City, Dept of Sanitation, to Wyalusing, PA. He later worked at the Bradford County Correctional Department in Burlington.
He loved spending time with his family; he was very close to his daughters. Lester enjoyed everything miliary, especially having to do with the 82nd airborne, he was an avid reader and history buff.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Wyalusing, PA, and a member of Wyalusing Post #534, American Legion, Wyalusing, PA.

Numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by infant twin sons, James and Joseph, as well as his son, Lester Price III, in 2002, sons-in-law John Dancear, Todd Secules, and Donald Surrett, sisters: Eleanor Geiger and Maryjane Piscitelli.
A Transferal Service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:30 AM from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wyalusing, PA, with Rev. Jose Joseph Kuriappilly, his pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in the Wyalusing Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, on Saturday, September 19, from 9:30 A.M. until the start of the transferal at 10:30 AM.
Army Military Honors will be accorded by members of the US Army Honors detail, and by members of Wyalusing Post 534, Wyalusing, PA.
