Leonard "George" Macgill

January 2, 1933 — July 6, 2020

Mr. Leonard “George” Macgill, age 87, of Elkland Township, Sullivan County, PA., passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 6, 2020.

 

          George was born in Williamsport, PA., on January 2, 1933, a son of the late Leonard Francis & Roxanna Phillips Macgill.  He graduated from the Williamsport High School, a member of the class of 1950.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War. 

 

          He married the former Deane Rexer, and they celebrated their 63 wedding anniversary this year.

 

          George was the owner of Macgill Supply Co of Williamsport, PA.

 

          He especially liked working on his property with his vintage JD bulldozer, fishing trips to Quebec for Walleye and Montana for Trout.  He continued to enjoy his last years small game hunting for grouse with Son, Scott and faithful dog Bailey.

He is also survived by five grandchildren: Blair Fry, Jessica Spako, Ashley Charnitski, Robert Macgill and Christine Helm; eight great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.  

 

        Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

                  Arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA
