Kathy Renee Girven Braun, age 73, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Kathy was born in Meshoppen, PA, on May 9, 1952, a daughter of the late Calvin and Harriet Eloise Ely Girven. As a member of the French Club, American Field Service, and National Honor Society in high school, Kathy was chosen to represent WVHS as a summer exchange student in Turkey. She was also very active in the Library Club at Wyalusing Valley High School, and when she graduated with the class of 1970, she furthered her education in library science at Kutztown University.
In July 1998 Kathy married her WVHS classmate, and fellow Library Club member, John H. Braun and together they celebrated 27 years of marriage.
After college, Kathy worked at a bank in the Philadelphia area for several years. Upon returning to northeastern Pennsylvania, she worked at Procter and Gamble in Mehoopany.
Kathy enjoyed books, music, and learning. Despite her long-term illness, she remained soft-spoken and kind. Birdwatching was a special hobby and she enjoyed Hallmark shows on TV.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother David Calvin Girven on October 17, 2015.
Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family.
