Joyce Darlene Christmas

Joyce D. Christmas, age 79, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family.

          Joyce was born at home on Tyler Mountain on February 12, 1941, the daughter of the Late Emory Galloway and IdaBelle Altemose.            

          Joyce married Ralph Burnam who preceded her in death and she spent most of her life living in Georgia. While living in Georgia she owned and operated a campground, as well as a bar. In 2014 her health started declining and she moved back to Pennsylvania.

          She enjoyed crocheting blankets for her family and friends and collecting various items. She especially enjoyed Sunday family dinners and was well known for her famous Fish Frys.

          She is also survived by six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and also a very special friend Miss Charlotte.

          She was predeceased by her parents and her former husbands Laurence Mapes, Ralph Burnam, and Charles Christmas. She was also predeceased by a son in law Lonnie VanDeMark and her sister Dawn Knolles and a Great Granddaughter Aliveah Williams.

          The family wishes to give special thanks to the Guthrie Hospital.

          Funeral services are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing and will be held at the convenience of the family.
