John R. Snell

          Mr. John R. Snell, age 68, well-known Towanda resident, passed away on Wednesday evening, September 12, 2018, with his loving family at his side.

          John was born on January 9, 1950, a son of Catherine Hoffman “Kate” Snell and the late Richard E. “Dick” Snell. He graduated from Towanda High School a member of the class of 1968. He then graduated from Kings College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1972. He received his Public Accountant License on December 21, 1978.

          He married the former Michele Stevens of Durell, PA, on August 15, 1973.

          He was a successful and prominent retired partner with LaBarr & LaBarr in Sayre, PA.

          John has served on the board of PS Bank since 2001 and has served as Vice Chairman of the Board since 2013.

          He was predeceased by his father, Richard E. “Dick” Snell on May 26, 2012 and by his in-laws: Reginald E. “Pete” on September 10, 2017 & Jacqueline “Jackie” Kuykendall Stevens on July 2, 2006.

          John’s request was that Funeral Services be private and will be at the convenience of the family.

          He was a life-long parishioner at Ss. Peter & Paul in Towanda, PA.

          Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Agnes School, 102 3^rd Street, Towanda, PA 18848.

          Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
