Joan Louise Grover

Joan Louise Grover, age 57, of New Albany, PA, went home to be with the Lord and entered the gates of Heaven on early Sunday morning, July 27, 2025, at the Robert Packer Hospital surrounded with love from her family after a brief but valiant fight against cancer.

Joan was born on September 12, 1967, at Wilkes Barre General Hospital a daughter of the late Wesley Allen Garinger Sr. and Eileen May Warrell Garinger. She attended Wyalusing Valley High School.

She married Benjamin F. Grover Sr. on April 5, 1996.

Joan was currently working at the Bradford County Court House where she has worked for the last 17 years. She was currently working in the Collections Department and before that worked in the Probation Department.

She was a longtime member of the Moxie Community Church. She was currently serving as the church secretary.

She enjoyed going to the beach with her sisters every year. She also enjoyed shopping and swimming with her grandchildren. She was known for her humor and loved to make anyone laugh. Joan looked forward to Christmas every year so she could find the most perfect Christmas tree. However her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son Jason S. Lant on March 31, 2015, a step daughter Jimmie Jo Grover on April 30, 2019, a sister Elizabeth Jane Carter on August 10, 2015, brothers-in-law David J. Wilson on March 30, 2024, and Andy Grover on April 14, 1983, and sisters-in-law Beverly Garinger on May 9, 2011, Ella Vanderpool on September 21, 2014, Jenny Grover on April 14, 1983, and Shirley Grover on December 10, 2019. She was also predeceased by an infant brother David Allen Garinger and by nephews Kenneth Bartholomew on August 11, 2024, and Michael Garinger on January 25, 2021.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the Moxie Community Church, with her pastor, Rev. Jay Bucci officiating.

Friends and family may call on Saturday afternoon, August 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM until the start of the service at 4:00 PM in the Moxie Community Church.
