Mrs. Janice Lucille Walker, age 82, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away on Friday morning, April 17, 2026, at the Lifequest Nursing Center in Quakertown, PA.

Janice was born February 7, 1944, in Towanda, PA, a daughter of the late Adrian and Beatrice Whipple Fisk. She graduated from the Wyalusing High School, a member of the class of 1962. She married Frederick Eugene “Gene” Walker on January 4, 1963. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage before Gene’s passing on September 10, 2018.

Janice drove bus for the Wyalusing School District for 41 years, and also worked for the Homer Funeral Home for many years alongside Mil Prichard. She enjoyed being a caretaker and helping others, and she was known for bringing food to people in the community that were sick or had lost someone. She was also famous for her goulash.

She loved spending time with her family and friends. She always hosted a Sunday meal after church every week, followed by an episode of the Lone Ranger and some football. Janice also greatly enjoyed bowling throughout the years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Kelsey, Cole, Nicole, Michael, Austin, Caleb, Alison, Savannah, Gracelyn, Justin, Brittany, JJ, Riley, Olivia, Samantha, Melanie, Morgan, Logan, Caitlyn, Kyle.

She is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Jean Bodin in 2024, a sister-in-law Lois B. Walker in 2023, two brothers-in-law, Norman Fleet and Don Bodin, and a great granddaughter Rosalie Oliver Hoover on August 30, 2025.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, with Pastor Larry Thomas, officiating. Burial will follow in the Wyalusing Cemetery, Wyalusing, PA.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
