Mr. James R. Woodruff, age 72, of Sugar Run, Wilmot Twp., Bradford Co., PA, passed away suddenly on early Tuesday morning, July 8, 2025, at his home.

Jim was born on August 28, 1952, in Sayre, PA, a son of the late Roy Elmer Woodruff Sr. and Bertha Adeline Wakeley Woodruff. He graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School a member of the class of 1970. He then graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture in 1974. After college he started working at Masonite where he dedicated 44 and half years before retiring in January of 2019. While working at Masonite he earned the nickname “Chipper”.

He married the former Leysa Ann Jennings of East Smithfield, PA, on July 16, 1983, in the East Smithfield Federated Church.

Jim was a lifelong member of the Camptown Presbyterian Church and served as a trustee and elder.

Jim enjoyed homesteading, especially raising chickens and gardening. He also was an avid New York Yankees and Penn State Nittany Lions Football fan. However his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister-in-law Judy Woodruff, brother-in-law Devon Allen, and a father-in-law Gerald N. Jennings.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Camptown Community Church, Camptown, PA, with the Rev. Helen M. Learn and his cousin Pastor Lorrie Loughney co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends and family may call on Friday morning, July 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM in the Camptown Community Church, Camptown, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Camptown Presbyterian Church, PO Box 634, Wyalusing, PA 18853 in loving memory of James R. Woodruff.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA.
