Hazel Margaret Connell

Hazel M. Connell, age 69, of San Mateo, CA, passed away on September 27, 2020, at the Mills Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, CA.

          Hazel was born in Winchester, England, on January 21, 1951, a daughter of the late Frank & Peggy Louise Martin Allison.

          She graduated from Bletchley Grammar School, Buckinghamshire, England in 1967, in which year she travelled to Hong Kong with her parents.

          Hazel’s father worked for the Intelligence Department of the British Admiralty and the family enjoyed spells abroad in Ceylon, Malta and Hong Kong while Hazel was growing up.

          She married Lawrence P. Connell on June 15, 1985, and he predeceased her on February 5, 2010.

          Hazel and Larry resided in Oak Park, IL, before relocating to California in 1997, where she was employed in the Real Estate Industry at Coldwell Banker.

Although they traveled and worked around the world, Hazel and Larry always loved to return to the family farm in Dushore, PA

          A Transferal Service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 10:30 AM from the Homer Funeral Homer, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, in St. Basil's Church, Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Thomas J. Major, pastor, presiding.  Interment will be in the adjoining parish cemetery.

          Friends and family may call at the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA, on Thursday morning, November 5, 2020, from 10:00 AM until the start of the Transferal at 10:30 AM.

          Memorial Contributions are directed to St. Basil's Storm Damage Fund, PO Box 307, Dushore, PA 18614.

          Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614.
