Mr. Harold “Buck” Prichard, age 86, lifelong resident of Sugar Hill, PA, passed away peacefully Friday morning, October 13, 2017, at the Highlands Care Center, Laporte, PA, with his loving family at his side. Buck was born on July 15, 1931, in Sugar Hill, PA, a son of the late Paul and Sarah Kunkle Prichard. He attended and graduated from Wyalusing High School in 1949. He met and married the former Mildred “Mil” Hope of Lovelton, PA on August 2, 1958, and they enjoyed 59 years marriage. He worked on the family dairy farm on Sugar Hill. He helped other farmers with their milking and also sold them life insurance. It was said that he would be cleaning stalls and at the same time selling insurance to the farmer. In 1968, he began selling insurance for PA Farmer Insurance Co. which transitioned into Harvest Insurance. Buck sold life, accident, and health insurance while “Mil” sold property and casualty insurance. Buck retired as the regional manager for Harvest Insurance. He enjoyed hunting and checking his game camera and sharing those pictures with his family. He also enjoyed raising beef cattle and also looked forward to brush hogging with his tractor. He and “Mil” traveled the world over twice with other colleagues in the insurance business. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren, especially talking about baseball, with his favorite team being the St. Louis Cardinals. He also played softball when he was younger and later managed and sponsored softball teams under “Prichard Insurance” for many years. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Robert Prichard, and two sisters Anna Prichard and Helen Dieffenbach. Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
