Mr. George Frank Weidle, age 84, of Overton, Twp., Bradford Co., PA, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 3, 2025.

George was born on April 19, 1941, in Lebanon, PA, a son of the late Frank William and Beatrice Marie Haag Weidle. He graduated from Lebanon High School a member of the class of 1959. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy.

After his honorable discharge from the United States Navy, he worked and tended bar in California. In 1970 he returned home to Lebanon to take over the family business as the fourth generation owner and proprietor of Weidle Sanitation. George retired and in 2007 sold the business, which is still in operation today. He married the former Suzanne Werner on May 2, 1975. That began a journey that included celebrating their golden 50th wedding anniversary this year. George was a devoted partner, and their unwavering love was a testament to their enduring bond.

After retirement in 2009, George and Suzanne moved to the country in the Endless Mountains and made their home in Overton Township.

George was a member of the Krako Fishing Club in Lebanon County and the Liberty Marching Club. He was also a member of the Elstenville Sportsmans Club in Manheim. He held life memberships in the NRA, Monroeton Rod & Gun Club, American Legion, and the VFW Post #384 New Albany. Along with his wife Suzanne, they were also members of St. Paul’s Bible Church in Overton, PA.

George dedicated himself to building a beautiful retirement home for himself and his beloved wife, Suzanne. They turned their house into a labor of love, filled with warmth, love, laughter, and making amazing memories with their family and many cherished friends. He enjoyed countless hours overlooking the beautiful scenery and sunsets from the mountaintop. George discovered his love for hunting at a young age, a passion passed down from his father and him to his sons. For decades, he was a fixture in the woods during deer and bear season, relishing the quiet sunrises and the camaraderie of deer camp with his friends and family. He also enjoyed rabbit hunting and was a member of Rabbit Hunters Incorporated based out of Lebanon, PA, with a few select members. George was a devoted husband, father, and friend whose laughter filled every room. He cherished his wife and spent countless hours enjoying their children and grandchildren's company, creating a home always open to a wide circle of friends. His spirited conversations and one liners with an Old Milwaukee in hand, will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
