Frances Marie Fiester

          Mrs. Frances Marie Fiester, age 91, well known Laporte Beautician, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 04, 2019, in Laporte, PA.

          Frances was born September 12, 1927, in Wilmot Township, Bradford County, PA, a daughter of the late Guy F. and Beatrice Blemle Krause.  She graduated from the Dushore High School, a member of the class of 1946, and married Myron D. Fiester of Muncy Valley, PA, on February 1, 1947.  Myron predeceased her on November 4, 1954. Frances worked at the former Sull-Craft Industries in Dushore and also for the Spako family at the Laporte Hotel.  She graduated from Beckman’s Beauty School in Williamsport and opened up her beauty shop in Laporte in 1963.  She also operated an Antique Shop below her salon in Laporte and enjoyed attending antique shows and auctions.

          Frances was a member of Zion Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, PO Box 460, Dushore, PA, where she was a member of the Dorcas Society and sang in the church choir.

Krause of Horseheads, NY, in 2006, Richard Krause, of Sheridan, MT in 2014, and Jack Krause of Fleetwood in 2014; a sister and brother-in-law: Betty Lou and John McKernan of New Albany, PA on January 10, 2008; a sister-in-law: Nancy Krause of Horseheads, NY; and by a grandniece, Amy Kay Frederick of Wyalusing, PA.

          Services were private and interment was in the Cherry Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family, with her pastor, Rev. Phyllis A. Pelletier, officiating.

          Arrangements were under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA. 

          The family provided the flowers and asks that memorials be directed to Zion Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, PO Box 460, Dushore or the Laporte Fire Company, PO Box 31, Laporte, PA 18626.
