Christelle Loftus

          Mrs. Christelle “Marianne Linsky” Loftus, age 79, of Eagles Mere, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her home in Eagles Mere after a brief illness.           Marianne was born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 2, 1937, the daughter of the late Edward Christopher & Frances Catherine Black Linsky. She graduated from J.W. Hallahan Catholic Girl’s High School in Philadelphia.  She received her BA from Blessed Sacrament College and a MA at the University of Scranton.  She taught high school math at Willingboro High School in Willingboro, NJ and also at Conwell-Egan High School in Fairless Hills, PA.           She married William A. Loftus Esq. on December 17, 1974.  They lived in Yardley and Eagles Mere until his passing on October 17, 1998.           In Eagles Mere, Christelle became very active with her church and the community.  She was the sacristan for St. Francis of Assisi Chapel in Eagles Mere. She was the past president of the Eagles Mere Athletic Association; past president of the Eagles Mere Association; board member and past president of the Eagles Mere Friends of the Arts; she was a member of the Eagles Mere Borough Council, where she was currently Vice-president and chair of personnel; a member of the Eagles Mere Laporte Lions Club; former Eagles Mere Committeewoman for the Democrat Party; and also was the secretary of the committee; a member and past president of the Eagles Mere Civic Club; past member of the Eagles Mere Country Club; and a member of the board of Victim’s Services and a founder of the summer Victorian Tea and the Eagles Mere Branch Library. She was also an avid Mahjong player.                 Christelle was a member of Church of the Resurrection, Muncy, PA   Surviving:   Sons: Brian (Andrea) Loftus                    Jersey City, NJ Sean (Kate) Loftus                          Oakland, CA   Brother: Edward (Loretta) Linsky                Cherry Hill, NJ   Brother-in-law: Edward McLaughlin                       Wilkes-Barre, PA   Grandchildren: William and Emily Loftus             Oakland, CA           And several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Linsky.                   The family received friends at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA on Friday, August 18th, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M           A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, August 19th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi    Chapel, Eagles Mere, PA, with the Most Reverend James C. Timlin, D.D. Bishop emeritus of Scranton, as principal celebrant and Rev. Richard Rojas, and Rev. Glenn McCreary, V.E. as concelebrants.                 Interment was be in the Eagles Mere Cemetery.            Pallbearers were Christopher Linsky, Edward Linsky, Brian Linsky, Sean Linsky, Kevin Heffron and William Wallace.           A reception and time of fellowship, followed at the Eagles Mere County Club.           Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagles Mere Foundation, PO Box 402, Eagles Mere, PA 17731, in her memory.           Funeral arrangements are under the direction to the P.
