Charles Wesley "Chuck" Keeney

September 11, 1962 — December 8, 2017

Charles Wesley “Chuck” Keeney, age 55, a lifelong New Albany, PA, resident, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017, at the Robert Packer Hospital, as a result from complications of an automobile accident that occurred a week earlier.             Chuck was born September 11, 1962, a son of the late Wesley & Esther A. Sayman Keeney.  He graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School, a member of the class of 1980.  He worked for HTM Precision Machining in New Albany for 35 years and was currently a machinist at Masco Cabinetry in Sayre, PA. He was also currently serving as an Albany Twp. Supervisor.             For over 25 years Chuck enjoyed catering for many different events for the New Albany Fire Dept. and various other organizations. He was famous for his BBQ chicken and pig roasts. In his younger years he was a partner with Dick Hugo in a butcher shop in Evergreen, PA.   He married his best friend and the love of his life, the former Barbara Jean Stanton of Mildred, PA, on November 5, 2011.             Chuck enjoyed anything in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his brothers and friends.  In years past, he enjoyed umpiring Little League games throughout the area. He enjoyed bowling and playing rings. He was a member of the Sullivan County Ring Toss League and a member of the Holy Name Bowling League.             He had a very strong faith and was a faithful member of St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA and regularly attended 7:30 A.M. Mass.             Chuck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a fun loving guy and had a laugh that was contagious and his smile would light up the room. Chuck was a one-of-a-kind. He was a big teddy bear with his loving and giving personality, which drew everyone to him. He was so full of life and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was also predeceased by his in-laws, Donald & Alma Stanton.             A Transferal Service will be held on Wednesday, December 13th 2017 at 10:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Steven J. Brosk, presiding. Interment will follow in St. Basil’s Cemetery.             Family and friends may call on Tuesday, December 12th, 2017, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the P.
