Mary E. “Mae” Barnosky, age 83, of Dushore, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at her home with her loving family at her side.
Mae was born February 20, 1936, a daughter of the late Ellery Weaver Sr., and Catherine Taffe Weaver. She graduated from St. Basil’s High School, a member of the Class of 1954. She married John R. (Jack) Barnosky of Dushore, PA, on June 27, 1959. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary last June.
Mae worked for many years and retired from the Endicott-Johnson Shoe Mfg. Co., of Mildred, PA.
Mae was a very active member of St. Basil’s Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was involved in every parish activity, baking thousands of pies for the church and the Knights of Columbus.
Mae enjoyed mowing and maintaining her immaculate lawn and she enjoyed spending time with her family and numerous friends.

She was predeceased by: brothers N. Ellery Weaver Jr. , on August 21, 1991, Richard G. Weaver on June 6, 1992; sister Catherine Skwierawski on March 22, 1999; brothers-in-law Frank Barnosky on April 3, 1972, Walter R. “Butch” Barnosky, on April 14, 2014; and sister-in-law Mrs. Marian C. Gardner on January 12, 1995.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Thomas J. Major, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday morning at 10:00 at St Basil’s until the time of the Mass.
The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorial contributions be sent to the Sullivan County Library, PO Box 309, Dushore, PA, 18614, or the Dushore Fire Co. and Ambulance Assoc., PO Box 1, Dushore, PA, 18614.
The funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
