Carol Horner Camphire

           Mrs. Carol H. Camphire, age 73, formerly of Dushore, PA, passed away peacefully into eternity in the early afternoon, on Monday, December 11, 2017, at the Sharp Memorial Hospital, in San Diego, CA.

          Carol was born November 16, 1944 in Summit, NJ a daughter of the late Clifford Edward & Viola Bertha Shaulis Horner.  She graduated from the Watkins Glen Central High School in 1962, Mansfield State College in 1968 and later from Penn State University with a Master’s Degree in Education.

          She married Gary Lee Camphire of Bradford, PA, on January 28, 1967.  He predeceased her on March 8, 2009 after 42 years of marriage.

          Carol and Gary taught at the Wyalusing Valley High School until retiring.

Several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Nicole Shaulis Camphire, of Easton, PA on July 28, 2013.

          A viewing was held on Friday, December 22, 2017 in San Diego, CA.

          Private interment will be held in the Colley Cemetery, Colley, PA, where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Gary Camphire.

          A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held later in the spring of 2018, at a date to be determined.

          Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
