Carl E. Wagner, age 93, of Dallas, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Born in Dushore, July 3, 1927, he was the son of Raymond and Mary Bahr Wagner. He graduated from St. Basil’s High School, a member of the class of 1945. He enlisted in the US Navy and was discharged in 1946. In 1949 he received the American Area Campaign Medal and the WW II Victory Medal. He received degrees in Theatre Arts and Speech from Ithaca College and Penn State University. He toured the eastern United States with a Children’s Theatre Company, and directed for a winter season in Denver, Colorado. He also worked in theatres in Reading and Wilkes-Barre.
From 1954 until retirement in 1992 he taught Theatre Arts and developed a Theatre Major at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
He has driven a Harley-Davidson motorcycle most of his life and believes God the Father also rides a Harley and that they will enjoy riding together.
He was a member of St. Theresa’s Church in Shavertown, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Theresa’s Church, 64 Davis St., Shavertown, PA, 18708 with Rev. James J. Paisley, his pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dushore, PA, with a graveside service at 12:30 PM where military honors will be accorded by members of the US Navy Honors Detail.
Surviving are numerous cousins.
