Bonnie June Boyles

Bonnie June Burgess Boyles, age 92, of 346 Estella Spur Road, Forksville, PA, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 26, 2023, at the Darway Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, in Estella, PA.  

Bonnie was born October 19, 1930, in Forksville, PA, a daughter of the late Ralph & Ethel Birdsall Burgess.  She graduated from the Elkland Township High School, Estella, PA., in 1948.  On May 20, 1951, she married Clinton Boyles at the Hillsgrove United Methodist Church.

Bonnie worked in the cafeteria for the Sullivan County School District and also at Camp Maple Lake.  She also volunteered at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.  She was a member of the First Church of Jesus Christ at Bethel and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 601, Sonestown, PA.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Bonnigene Boyles & Nicole Boyles Roloson and her husband John, all of Forksville, PA; great grandchildren John Roloson and Ransom Roloson; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Burgess of Friendsville, PA, and numerous nieces & nephews.  

She was predeceased by her husband Clinton Boyles on January 29, 1997, a son Glen Boyles on October 5, 2009, son Ralph Jeffrey Boyles on May 26, 2013, and an infant daughter Agnes in 1952, and by a daughter-in law, Linda Boyles on October 7, 2000.  She was also predeceased by four brothers, Roscoe Burgess and Bruce Burgess, both of Forksville, PA, & Leland Burgess of Waverly, NY, and Paul Q. Burgess of Friendsville, PA; and by three sisters, Esther Berry of Estella, PA, Mary Goodwin, of Horseheads, NY, and Bettie Daube of Elmira, NY.

Abiding by Bonnie’s wishes there will be no funeral services and interment will be held in the Hillsgrove Cemetery.
