Betty Ann McBride Hottenstein, age 66, of Dushore, PA, and formerly of Mildred, PA, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Betty was born on March 9, 1957, in Plymouth, MA, a daughter of the late Charles Edward “Sarge” and Isabelle Nelson Richmond McBride. As a daughter of a cook in the US Air Force, Betty and her family spent their childhood years around the country in different Air Force Bases. The McBride family moved to Mildred when Betty was in seventh grade, and that is when she met her lifelong best friend of over 50 years, Linda Chrzanowski Schaad. She graduated from Sullivan County High School a member of the class of 1975.

In her early years she worked at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory in Mildred and also as a clerk in the Mildred Post Office. She would later become a teacher’s aide in the Sullivan County Elementary School where she worked for over 25 years before retiring in 2014.

Betty enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, and traveling especially to the beach. She loved everything Disney and red was her favorite color.
