Glenview, IL & Eagles Mere, PA

Barbara Enid Reighard, of Glenview IL, a beloved daughter, sister, friend and nanny, passed away at the age of 61 after an extended battle with autoimmune disorders.

She departed peacefully on April 8th, 2024. Born on January 2nd, 1963, in Evanston IL, Barbara grew up in Winnetka, IL and graduated from New Trier High School in 1981. Barbara had a passionate heart and deep love for children. She dedicated over three decades of her life to nurturing and caring for children as a devoted nanny. Barbara faced numerous health challenges but did her best to not let them dampen her spirits or allow them to diminish her joys of life. Despite her own battles, Barbara always prioritized the well being of others, especially the children she cared for. Outside of work, Barbara was an avid and enthusiastic fan of her nephews and nieces sporting events and preforming arts shows along with spending fun times with friends and family.

Her laughter and kindness will be truly missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by her mother Louise Reighard (pre-deceased by father, Clyde), Brothers Scott Reighard and Alan Reighard (Suzy) and eight nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, the family plans to celebrate her life privately at a later date in Eagles Mere, PA, where she will buried alongside her father.
