Ann Catherine Dehler

August 20, 1935 — September 23, 2023

Ann Dehler, age 88, of Dushore, PA, passed away early Saturday morning, September 23, 2023, peacefully at home, with her sister Mary Lou Murray at her side.

Ann was born on August 20, 1935, in Dushore, PA, the daughter of James and Mildred Louise Sick Farley. She attended St. Basil’s High School and married Siegfried F. B. “Sig” Dehler.  She and Sig traveled the world with the Air Force, especially enjoying their time in Germany and New Zealand.

In 1971, they returned to Dushore, where Ann opened Dehler’s Decorating Center, which she operated for 10 years. Later she helped her husband Sig with his real estate business until his passing on October 1, 2000. Much of their time was occupied with the upkeep of their home, “the gingerbread house” often photographed by tourists.

Ann loved reading and quilting and was a skilled seamstress.  There was always a quilt in progress in her living room.  Each dog she owned, whether big-Finnegan, or small Puppy and Sadie, occupied a very special place in her heart.  At one time, her goldfish was the largest in the area, and her parrot the noisiest.  Ann also had a soft spot for cats who migrated to her home seeking food, which Ann provided.
