G. Rita Green

Mrs. G. Rita Green, age 101, of Dushore, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at home with her loving family at her side.             Rita was born October 4, 1915, a daughter of the late Henry William &   Gertrude Frances Tourscher Muller. She graduated from St. Basil’s High School, a member of the class of 1934.             She met and married Donald T. Green, formerly of Maine, who was teaching school in Sullivan County.  They were married at St. Basil’s Church on October 4, 1938 and they celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary before his death on April 9, 2011.             Rita was a member of St. Basil’s Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.  She was a former member of the Tuesday Book Club and the Dushore Music Club.  She was very influential in the formation of the Sullivan County Public Library.   Three sons and daughters-in-law: Raymond J. & Terry Lee Green              Waterford, ME Robert D. & JoAnn Green                       Dushore, PA Richard M. & Cindy Jo Green                Dushore, PA   Daughter and son-in-law: Katrina M. & Richard D. Gardner Dushore, PA   Daughter-in-law: Gretchen Green                                         Athens, PA   Brother: Paul and Barbara Muller                                   Dushore, PA   Sister: Marie and Philip McDermott                            Charlotte, NC & Eagles Mere, PA   Fourteen grandchildren, and seventeen great grand-children, two great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.             She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Green of Athens, PA on May 17, 1994, brother; Carl Henry Muller on May 1, 2005; two sisters-in-law; Lucille Muller on April 6, 2004, and Catherine M. Muller on August 19, 2004; two nephews; Mark H. Muller on September 28, 1981, and Joseph C. Muller on September 16, 1992; and a niece, Annette Marie McDermott on June 1, 1994.              A Transferal Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, January 30th, 2017 from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Richard Rojas, her pastor, presiding.  Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore, PA.             Friends may call on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.             Members of I.H.M.
