Mr. Stephen Francis Soden, age 66, of Jefferson, GA and formerly of Dushore, PA passed away late Monday night, January 02, 2017 at the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens, GA.             Stephen was born on September 10, 1950 a son of the late Rexford G. & Marie Isabell Smith Soden. He graduated from Sullivan County High School a member of the class of 1969.  He enlisted in the US Navy in 1969 and served in Vietnam and was discharged in 1975.             He moved to Georgia in 1980 and worked as a welder in pipeline construction for the Heavy Equipment Movers & Installation, LLC, in Commerce, GA, retiring in 2016.             He was a member of Loyalsock Post 996, American Legion, in Dushore, PA, Mitchell Fields VFW Post # 2872, in Athens, GA, and the Southern States Millwright Union, Local 1263, Kennesaw, GA.   Surviving: Two brothers:     Joseph Soden                                            Dushore, PA Justin (Kathleen) Soden                          Clarksville, TN   Two sisters: Rosemary (Carmen) Cosentino               Susquehanna, PA Lorraine (Mark) Zabitz                            Tyrone, PA   Two aunts: Dorothy Bowers                                       Litchfield, AZ Wallie Smith                                             South Burlington, VT             He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.             Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers: Gerald James Soden on January 31, 1969 and Vincent Eugene Soden on September 22, 2008. He was also predeceased by a nephew Michael Cosentino in August of 1997 and by a niece Jessica J. Soden Pedro on January 18, 2015.             Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Basil’s Cemetery Association, PO Box 1, Dushore, PA 18614.                       A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614 with the Rev. Richard Rojas, presiding.  Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery.             Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. on Saturday morning until the time of the service.             Graveside Military Services will be accorded by members of American Legion Loyalsock Post 996 and the US Navy Honor’s Detail.  Members are asked to assemble and pass in review at 10:25 A.M.
