Barbara Ann Andrewlavage

Barbara Ann Andrewlavage, age 70, of Lopez, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 07, 2016 at home. Barbara was born in Williamsport, PA on August 6, 1946, a daughter of the late Joseph A. & Julia Sinovich Andrewlavage. She graduated from the Sullivan County High School, a member of the class of 1964. Barb began her 49 year banking career at the First National Bank of Dushore in 1965, where she was the secretary to Gene Avery, the Bank Manager. She handled all the secretarial work and also kept track of several charities that were entrusted to the bank to manage. As the bank’s ownership evolved she advanced to become the Branch Manager at the Eagles Mere office for Northern Central Bank. In 1998, when Northern Central was acquired by M&T Bank she continued her career with Peoples State Bank of Wyalusing, from which she retired on May 23, 2013. Barb was also elected as the Colley Township Tax Collector, and has served for the past 12 years. She was a very active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mildred, PA. She was involved as the treasurer for most all church activities. She was also instrumental with the Lopez Civic Association, especially with their annual Christmas party. Also, she helped with the Mildred and Dushore Fire Company fund raising activities. Surviving: Sister: Elaine (John) Fewer Annapolis, MD Step-mother: Rose Andrewlavage Sayre, PA Aunts: Emily Andrewlavage Lopez, PA Dorothy Andrewlavage Elmira, PA Uncle: Mike (Vera) Sinovich Wilmington, DE Niece Charlene Fewer and nephew, John (Michelle) Fewer Jr.; grandnieces, Julianne and Alexandra, and numerous cousins. A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Mildred, PA with her pastor, the Rev. Richard Rojas, presiding. Interment will be in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, Lopez, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M.
