Helen L. Prichard Dieffenbach, age 87, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016, with her loving family at her side. Helen was born on June 11, 1929, in Sugar Hill, PA, a daughter of the late Paul and Sarah Kunkle Prichard. Helen attended and graduated from Wyalusing High School in 1947. She met and married Richard L. Dieffenbach of Dushore, PA on June 21, 1952. He predeceased her on December 30, 2006. In her early years she worked for the Wyalusing Rocket, Herman Rynveld Son’s Wreath Co, and the Tastee Freeze. She spent the majority of her life working on the family dairy farm alongside her husband Richard. Upon Richard’s death, she moved to Dalton, PA to live with her daughter, where she became involved in Queen Victoria’s Court ladies group, participating in numerous vintage Victorian fashion shows, which raised funds on behalf of various charities. Helen was a member of the Montdale United Methodist Church. Helen loved spending time with her family and friends. She was very well known for her delicious home cooked meals, especially her baked goods. Helen also enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords. She was a hard worker and will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving: Two daughters and son-in-law: Kathy Chorba, Dalton, PA Ann & Jack Trevisan, West Chester, PA Brother: Harold (Buck) and Mil Prichard, Sugar Hill, PA Sisters-in-law: Rosemary (Harold) Renninger, Haines City, FL Debra (James) Brown, Wyalusing, PA Jan Dieffenbach, Canton, PA Several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son-in-law Richard Chorba, as well as a brother Robert Prichard, and a sister Anna Prichard; and by brothers-in-law: Carl Dieffenbach, Michael Dieffenbach and Jimmie Dieffenbach. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, at 11:00AM with Pastor Linda K. Eckersley officiating. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, in Wyalusing, on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
