Linda Timer Simko, age 64, of, Wyalusing, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at the Robert Packer Hospital with her loving family at her side.

She was born on July 8, 1951, in Union, NJ a daughter of the late George F. and Katherine Lennert Timer. She graduated from Union High School, Union, NJ in 1969. She then attended Patterson State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught history at a local high school in New Jersey for 7 years, during which time she furthered her education and received her Master’s Degree in History. She met and later married Frank Simko of Raritan, NJ on February 16, 1980. They just celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary. Linda and Frank moved to Bucks County, PA, where they raised their family. They moved to Wyalusing, in 1988. She started substituting in the Wyalusing School District in 1994 and took a permanent position in 1999 as a Physical Education teacher.

Linda was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Wyalusing, PA. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Her favorite place to be was at the beach in Wildwood, NJ, where she was known to “set up camp”. She enjoyed traveling to Gettysburg, PA, and was always stopping at the Trading Post to pick up Indian memorabilia. She coached the football varsity cheerleading squad at WVHS for several years. Linda enjoyed nature and going for walks outdoors, but her true passion was bettering the lives of her students.

John Timer, Griffin, GA

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 27, 2016, with the Rev. Joseph Manarchuk, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be at a later date in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.

Friends and family may call on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA.
