Cleon Willard Karge

Mr. Cleon Willard Karge, age 80, of Dushore, PA passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Cleon was born at home in Cherry Township, on March 10, 1935, one of twelve children of the late Ralph John Karge and Geraldine Lorena Crawford. He graduated from Cherry Township High School a member of the class of 1955. Cleon served in the US Army, 577 Ord Co from 1958 to 1960. He worked at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Mfg. Co. of Mildred, PA for twelve years. He retired on March 31, 1995 from Penn Dot after 25 years of service. He married the former Dolores Ulmer of Dushore on December 5, 1988. Cleon was a social member of McDermott Post #452 American Legion, Mildred, PA and PARSE, the retired Penn Dot employees’ organization. He and Dolores enjoyed camping and fishing and he especially like to do word search puzzles. Spouse: Dolores Dushore, PA Brothers: Ronald K. Karge Nanticoke, PA Leo E. Karge Montgomery, PA Sisters-in-law: Becky Karge Mechanicsburg, PA Ann Karge Clifton Springs, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters: Anita Winifred Karge, an infant sister, in 1945, and Rita M. Gilbert, of Forksville, PA; and by three brothers, Melvin Kenneth Karge of Conklin, NY, Alvin George Karge of Clifton Springs, NY, and Ivan. B. Karge of Mechanicsburg, PA., and a sister-in-law: Shirley Karge of Nanticoke. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home with the Rev. Phyllis A. Pelletier, officiating. Interment will be in the Peace Cemetery, Dushore, PA Friends may call on Friday, at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Graveside Military Services will be accorded by members of McDermott Post #452 American Legion, Mildred, PA and by member of the Military Honors Detail.
