Michael Eugene Monaghan

Mr. Michael Eugene Monahgan, age 73, of Dushore, PA and formerly of Philadelphia & Newtown Square, PA and Audubon, NJ passed away on early Saturday morning, November 7, 2015. Mike was born on August 11, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA one of fourteen children of the late John Joseph & Edna Roche Monaghan. He graduated from Marple Newtown High School a member of the class of 1962. He worked in sales within the electronics industry, and was also a volunteer fireman in Audubon, NJ. Mike was a member of St. Basil’s Church in Dushore, PA and also a member the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Neumann Council #1206. He was also a member of the Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion, Dushore, PA. He enjoyed Philadelphia Eagles football and was a devout fan his entire life. He loved classic movies, Sherlock Holmes mysteries, and fast cars. Surviving: Daughter: Kelly Monaghan Pottstown, PA Two Granddaughters: Brittany Monaghan Lexington, KY Chelsea Monaghan Lexington, KY Grandson: Andrew Zipfel Port Republic, NJ Great Grandson: Landon Torres Lexington, KY And numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Christine Monaghan Zipfel, and eight brothers and five sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St. Dushore, and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA, with his pastor, the Rev. Richard Rojas, presiding. Friends and family may call on Saturday morning at the Homer funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
