November 1, 2015 Frank E. “Smiley” Mucha, age 89 of Binghamton, NY passed away on Sunday, November 01, 2015 at the Elizabeth Church Manor in Binghamton, NY after a brief illness. Frank was born November 7, 1925 in Old Bernice, a son of the late Stanley J. & Anna Mary Pastula Mucha. He attended the Cherry Township High School and enlisted in the US Army and served in the Pacific at the end of WWII. Returning from the Army he worked at Endicott John Shoe Mfg. Co. He married the former Genevieve Kaier of Dushore, PA on May 17, 1952 in St. Basil’s Church, Dushore. Genevieve predeceased him on August 11, 1999 They moved to Binghamton, NY where Frank began working for the Kason Mfg. Co. of Binghamton, from which he retired after more than 25 years of service. He also worked for Fowler’s Department Store in Binghamton. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Hillcrest, NY formerly St. Rita’s Church of Chenango Forks and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #206 of Binghamton, NY Frank was an avid Yankee baseball fan. Surviving: Four sisters: Francis Pastusic Mildred, PA Stella Patros Elmira, NY Josephine Klem Dushore, PA Teresa Mucha Binghamton, NY Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son: John Francis Mucha on April 15, 2013; and brothers: Edward Mucha in 1945, William Mooha in 1978 and sisters, Helen Piasecki in 1989 and Alice Kaier in 2006. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. form the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Richard Rojas, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Homer Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Graveside Military Services will be conducted by Member of McDermott Post #452 American Legion, Mildred and Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion Post, Dushore, PA and members of the US Army Honor’s Detail.
