Phoebe A. Bidlack Keeney, age 89, of Wyalusing, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at the Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock, PA. Phoebe was born on August 30, 1925, in Athens, PA, daughter of the late Floyd and Pauline Barrowcliff Bidlack. She graduated from Athens High School in the class of 1943. She married James W. Keeney of Sugar Run, PA on May 24, 1946. They moved to Jim’s family’s homestead farm on Sugar Hill, where she raised her four boys while helping on the farm and working various other jobs. Phoebe was a member of the Hollenback Methodist Church and then later Wyalusing United Methodist Church. She was a past superintendent of the Hollenback Sunday School program. Phoebe was a member of the Wyalusing Order of the Eastern Star, now the Meshoppen O.E.S Chapter #70. Phoebe enjoyed spending time with her family, especially family gatherings. She enjoyed hunting deer and turkey. She liked cooking, crocheting, and gardening. Surviving: Sons and daughters-in-law: Tom (Delta) Keeney Watertown, NY Ray (Judy) Keeney Stillwater, PA Alan (Marti) Keeney Sugar Run, PA Jack (Cheryl) Keeney Wyalusing, PA Grandchildren: Ian, Kate, Daniel, Jeremy, Janice, Nicholas, Lori, Amy, Derek, and Nicholas. Sister: Harvalee Dimon Little Meadows, PA Twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Floyd Bidlack Jr, two sisters; Wilma Freeman and Lucy Mae Corey, and two grandchildren; Julie and Jason Keeney. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, Wyalusing, PA, with the Rev. Dale Russell and the Rev. Nick Keeney co-officiating. The interment will be in Quicks Bend Cemetery, Quicks Bend, PA. Friends and family may call at the Wyalusing United Methodist Church on Friday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
