Mr. Richard James (Dick) Fly I., age 77 of Race Hill Road, Wyalusing, PA passed away on Sunday, March 01, 2015 at his home with his loving family at his side. Richard was born in Gardenville, PA on September 5, 1937, son of the late Lloyd & Lavina Green Fly. He attended Central Bucks County High School, Doylestown, PA. Richard operated the family farm in Gardenville until enlisting in the US Army. He served in the Army Security Agency in Korea. He was the proprietor of the Accuflex Cable Corporation, Huntington Valley, PA. He was a machine maintenance mechanic for Mohawk Devices of Doylestown, PA and was the foreman at Thomas & Betts Corp. of Doylestown, PA. He retired in 1993 after suffering a heart attack. He was then engaged in making lawn furniture for Cannon Hill Products from which he retired in 1998. Richard enjoyed working on the farm and was very proud of his blueberries, vineyard, orchard, and garden. He had also been involved with logging and make his own lumber. He was an accomplished amateur Ham radio (K3DHW) operator. Richard was a member of Wyalusing Post 534 American Legion, Wyalusing, PA and was also a former member of the Pt. Pleasant Fire Company of Gardenville, PA Surviving: Spouse: Virginia M. Fly Home Son: Richard James Fly II Dublin, PA Daughters: Theresia (Scott) Ruback Wyalusing, PA Michelle (Richard) Parr Tunkhannock, PA Sisters-in-law: Rochelle Fly Chalfont, PA Betty Fly Pipersville, PA Brother-in-law: Harry Templeton Pipersville, PA 6 grandchildren: Adam and Benjamin Ruback Wyalusing, PA Richard Fly III Seattle, WA Jessica and Kaitlin Fly Dublin, PA Megan Parr predeceased numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a two sisters; Mildred Templeton and Marian Segletes, and two brothers John Fly and Walter Fly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Joseph J. Manarchuck, officiating. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Stowell, PA Friends may call of Friday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
