Shirley was born in Nanticoke, PA on June 5, 1947 a daughter of the late John & Phyllis Simmonds Shilkoski. She attended the Nanticoke High School and married Ron Karge of Dushore on March 10, 1973. Shirley worked for the former Plymouth Dress Company. She was a loving spouse, mother and grandmother and enjoyed cooking and camping. She most loved being with her grandchildren and great grandson. Karge Dushore, PA Linda (Raymond) McDonald Dushore, PA Nina L. Karge Dushore, PA Lena I. Karge Montgomery, PA Four grandchildren: Arthur Parsons, Nathan Parsons, Abby Harrison and Zachary Harrison and a great grandson, Aaron Parsons, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Karge in 1976; a brother, Francis Shilkoski and a sister Carol Shilkoski both of Wilkes-Barre; and sisters-in-law, Anita Winifred Karge, and infant in 1945 and Rita Gilbert in 2013 and by two brothers-in-law: Melvin Kenneth Karge of Conklin, NY, Alvin George Karge of Clifton Springs, NY Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 9th at 12:00 Noon at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614 with the Rev. Robert W. Brown officiating. Interment will be in Peace Cemetery, Dushore, PA. Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
