Farley, age 70, of Ringer Hill, Sullivan County, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his home with his loving family at his side. Jim was born in Cullman, AL on April 20, 1944 a son of the late Oscar and Vera Walton Farley. He graduated from High School and entered the US Navy where he served for 31 years. He was honorably discharged in 1991. He married the former Joyce Hochberg on January 6, 1996. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in History at Bloomsburg University. After retiring from the US Navy he worked at the Red Rock Job Corps for several years where he was in charge of the orientation program. He loved his fellow servicemen and very much enjoyed working with them in the different community programs that they provided our local communities. He also was involved in every Veterans and Memorial Day services. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading, dancing, his puppies, his horses and country music and was a huge Alabama Roll Tide Fan. Jim was the commander of American Legion Post #996 in Dushore, PA and was currently the District Commander for District #17. Surviving: Spouse: Joyce at home Three sons: Neil (Jade) Stark Silverdale, WA Allan (Karen) Farley Ashland, PA Paul Farley Norfolk, VA Three daughters: Lisa (Craig) Dostick Lincoln Falls, PA Crystal Spencer Forksville, PA Lisa Marie (Dan) Hodges Chicago, IL Brother: Jan (Shirley) Farley Cullman, AL Sister: Delma Sandlin Cullman, AL Ten grandchildren: Travis Spencer, Alison Spencer; Rachel Dostick, Lincoln Dostick, Ellianna Dostick; Alyssa Biegley, Cale Farley, Ryan Farley; Cameron Farley, Ethan Farley Great grandson: Mason Biegley, niece, Eleanor Callan and nephew Sonny Tucker. He was predeceased by sisters, Louise Tucker and Norma Farley. Graveside Military Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 17th 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore, PA with Pastor Richard Davis, officiating.   Friends may call on Thursday, October 16th at P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Legion members are ask to assemble and pass-in-review on Thursday evening at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home Funeral arrangements are under the direction of at the P.
