Leah was born on March 8, 1929 on the family farm in Evergreen, PA, a daughter of the late Frank & Rita Hoyt Teeter. She graduated as her class valedictorian of the New Albany High School. She was married to Clifford Allen who predeceased her in 1951 and Leon Hugo who predeceased her in 1986. Leah was a devoted member of the New Albany United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was very active in the community, especially enjoying her service to the New Albany Community Club, the Church annual Rummage Sale. Her chief joy was time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving: Three sons: Jeffrey (Susan) Hugo Norristown, PA Robert (Eileen) Hugo Towanda, PA George (Barbara) Hugo Wyalusing, PA Four daughters: Deborah (Larry) Griffith Little Meadows, PA Carol (Al) Rosenberger Athens, PA Kimberly Hugo Philadelphia, PA Paula (Steven) Heeb Malvern, PA Sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and numerous neices & nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, an infant Verna Teeter, Eileen Wells, Donna Parsons Ayers, Bernita Williams and Robert Teeter. Funeral Service will be held on August 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA 1885, with Pastor Kitty Keller, officiating, interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, New Albany, PA. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
