Sweigart, age 85, of Dushore, formerly of Denver, PA passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Towanda, PA. Kenneth was born, September 8, 1928 in Denver the son of the late Harry B. & Kathryn Grimes Sweigart. He attended local schools and began working as an electrician’s helper. He enlisted in the US Army in 1952 during the Korean War and was discharged as a Corporal in 1954 and continued on to eight years of service in the Army Reserve. After returning from Korea, he began working for the PA Turnpike Commission for 16 years, and later began working for Kalas Mfg. Co, of Denver, a wire mfg. company from which he retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of several Legion and VFW Posts in Denver. He very much enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and golf. In his later years, he enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. Surviving: Son: Richard “Amy” Sweigart Dushore, PA Daughter: Kathy “John” Weinhold Ephrata, PA Sister: Mary Alice Hassler Reamstown, PA Four grandchildren: Chad Weinhold, Heather Weinhold Tryon, Melissa Sweigart and Richard Sweigart Five great grandchildren: Calen Sweigart, Seth Sweigart, Soren Tryon, Svea Tryon and Ava Weinhold Ken was predeceased by a brother, Rudolph Sweigart of New York. Kenneth’s wishes were that there would be a private family service and that Memorial Contributions be sent to the Highlands Care Center, PO Box 10, Laporte, PA 18626 Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the P.
