Dick was born in Mildred, March 20, 1933 a son of the late Manley & Marguerite Ann Meehan Powers. He attended the Cherry Township School in Mildred and began working at the former Weldon Mfg. in Lopez, PA. He began working as a sawyer for Roscoe Burgess’s Mill and later the McCarty/Driscoll Mill. When the mill burned down, he worked and retired from the McCarty/Driscoll Pallet Mill. After retirement he worked for the Bradley Wiles Sawmill and also worked as the door man for the former Mountain House Restaurant for many years. Dick married the former Barbara June Norton of Elkland Township on December 13, 1958. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Dick attended St. Paul’s Church of Christ in Overton, PA. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. Ronald L. Dyer, officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Elkland Township. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
