Dottie was born on May 28, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA a daughter of the late Milton and Minnie Braun Newcomer. She met and married Colin Townsend Jr of Philadelphia, PA in 1942; he predeceased her in November of 1987. They lived in the Philadelphia area until moving to Totem Lake in 1968. She and Colin enjoyed hunting and fishing and outdoor living. They enjoyed going to Florida together for the winters. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. Dottie was a volunteer at the Bradford County Manor for 24 years until retiring at the age of 89; she also enjoyed volunteering at Park Place in Wyalusing, PA. She loved spending time with her family, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dottie always had a pocket full of biscuits for any and all of the neighborhood dogs. She enjoyed bowling which she did until the age of 87 when Mountainside Lanes in Wyalusing closed, which forced her into retirement. Sister: Florence Eve Venice, FL Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother; Harry Newcomer. A Celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
