She was born December 14, 1922 at the family home in Lawton, Pa, a daughter of the late George and Mabel Estus Williams. She graduated from Rush High School in the class of 1941. Following her graduation she was employed for a time as a housekeeper and telephone operator in the Montrose area. Doris married Clarence C. Beaumont at the home of her parents on December 25, 1942. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm in Stevensville for many years, where they raised their three children. In earlier years, Doris was a member of the Stevensville Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and belonged to the United Presbyterian Women’s Group. She was a founding member of the Stevensville Birthday Club for over 55 years. In later years, she was a member of the Camptown Community Church, where she sang in the choir, and participated in the bible study group and the prayer chain. Doris also participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life for several years. Doris enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was an avid gardener and always grew beautiful flowers and African violets. She was an excellent cook and baker. Doris was a gracious woman with a strong faith and great love for the Lord. Following her husband’s death, Doris moved to Park Place Senior Center in Wyalusing, where she resided from 1994 to 2009. In December 2009, she became a resident of the Skilled Nursing Unit at Towanda Memorial Hospital. Doris is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Philip) Underhill of TN; sons and daughter-in-laws; Donald (Annette) Beaumont of Towanda, and David (Nadine) Beaumont of AZ and DE; grandchildren; Greg (Darlene) Underhill, Jeff (Theresa) Beaumont, Beth (Donovan) Reinwald, Tim, Debbie, and Gracie Beaumont; Step-great-granddaughter Zoe (John) Woodruff, step-great-great-grandchildren Alexis, Colton, and Aria Woodruff; and several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her parents, George and Mabel E. Williams; her husband Clarence C. Beaumont in 1992; brother Donald Williams in 1950; infant grandson Mathias Beaumont in 1995; daughter-in-law Sandy Beaumont in 2000; and sister Merle Tyler in 2013. The family would like to thank Dr. Lisa Ceraolo; Mary Cotton, CRNP; and all of the staff and volunteers at the Skilled Nursing Unit at Towanda Memorial Hospital for the excellent care Doris received and all the kindness that was shown to her while she was a resident there. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. at the Camptown Community Church, Camptown, Pa, with her Pastor David Dewing presiding. The family will receive friends two hours before the funeral service, from 11 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., at the Camptown Community Church. The interment will be in the Nichols Cemetery, Nichols, NY. The family suggests that memorial donations may be directed to the Camptown Community Church, PO Box 163, Camptown, PA 18815, or to the Skilled Nursing Unit Activities Fund, Towanda Memorial Hospital, 91 Hospital Drive, Towanda, PA 18848, in memory of Doris Beaumont.
