DEAN HOMER FUNERAL HOME 206 WATER STREET PO BOX 1 DUSHORE, PA 18614 TEL 570 928-8163 FAX 570 928-8116 Email pdh@epix.net OBITUARY Alan Gary Bailey, age 64, of Overton, PA passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 as a result of an truck accident in Overton Township, PA Alan was born in Overton, PA on September 26, 1949 a son of the late Joseph Stephen Bailey and Helen Marie Beeman Bailey. He graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School a member of the class of 1969. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1971. After the War he continued operating the family farm and also worked as a carpenter for Matt Rinker and other local area contractors. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church of Christ and was a member of the A.J. Bird Memorial Post #384 V.F.W. New Albany, PA. Alan had a giving personality would help anyone who asked. He would make popcorn balls at holidays for the VFW and also enjoyed attending antique auctions and caring for his beloved pet dogs. Surviving: A brother: Sherill LaRue (Butch) Bailey Tunkhannock, PA Three sisters: Patricia Bacorn Overton, PA Shirlee (Calvin) Bird Overton, PA Sharon K. (Donnie) Haines Picture Rocks, PA Two brothers-in-law: Eugene Fetherbay Overton, PA Phil Lewis Wysox, PA A sister-in-law: Lorraine (Tootie) Bailey New Albany, PA And numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Lonnie Bailey and two sisters: a twin Alice Gayle Lewis, and Saundera Fetherbay, a brother-in-law: Russell Bacorn Sr. and sister-in-law, Sandy Bailey and a niece, Michelle Bacorn Fry. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul’s Church of Christ on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Ronald L. Dyer, pastor and Rev. Robert W. Martin, former pastor, co-officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Graveside Military Services will be accorded by members of the A.J. Bird Memorial Post #384 V.F.W. New Albany, PA Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P.
